NATURAL HEMPCRETE BLOCKS – HEMPFLAX INSULATION – NATURAL LIME PLASTERS

Welcome To Hempbuild

Hempbuild are a company who supply and distribute sustainable construction products, Isohemp hempcrete blocks, Hempflax Plus insulation and many types of Lime plasters. We are specialists in Isohemp hempcrete construction and installations, from new builds to complete renovations with hempcreteblocks. All of our services are based on values of integrity, quality and respect of the environment without compromise.

Hempcrete blocks are a non load bearing system of construction that are a non-toxic, VOC free, bio-composite mixture of hemp shive, lime binder and water. A lightweight material, it is about one eighth the weight of concrete. Hempcrete can be used to construct walls, in floors and in roofs. Hempcrete offers a flexibility of design for architects and home owners.

We believe in building homes that last through the generations. A home built from hempcrete & hempcrete blocks self regulates, and resonates with the rhythm of life lived within. The naturally regulating benefits of our products and the environment of warmth, health and personality they create, ensures natural sustainable, healthy buildings that last the test of time.

The Benefits of a Hempcrete Home – No Toxins – No VOC’s

Hempbuild Isohemp Hempcrete provides high levels of thermal and acoustic insulation, It also regulates the internal relative humidity and temperature swings ‘through hygroscopic material behaviour, contributing to healthier building spaces and providing effective thermal mass’. The building envelope is vapour permeable which allows moisture in the building to migrate out and eliminates the likelihood of condensation on internal faces.

Hempcrete & The Environment

Better than Zero Carbon – Hempcrete absorbs C02

Hempbuild Isohemp Hempcrete blocks have a low impact on the environment and its carbon sequestration and storage capacity are a significant benefit of the material. During photosynthesis, the hemp plant absorbs CO2 from the atmosphere during the day, converting carbon to biomass and exhaling oxygen. When the hemp is subsequently used in construction, the carbon within it is locked away for the life of the building. Therefore, using hemp within the structure of a building can be better than zero carbon, sometimes referred to as carbon negative. 108kg of CO2 can be locked away in 1m3 of Hempbuild Isohemp Hempcrete.

Hempcrete Construction Facts

Buildings made of hempcrete:

Store the carbon from a renewable biomass throughout the life of the building material. Create a vapour-permeable construction envelope that ensures healthy indoor air quality.

Provide excellent thermal insulation and a large thermal mass, depending on block size. Avoid thermal bridging and provides good airtightness with simple detailing.

Are simple to construct. Building with Hempcrete requires care but the skills are easy to learn and homes made of Hempcrete last for hundreds of years.

NATURAL DURABILITY

Hempcrete homes and buildings are self-insulated including thermal and sound insulation and naturally resistant to rotting, rodents, insects. They are very durable, fire proof, waterproof, weather resistant, infrangible, vapor permeable and impermeable to liquid water. Buildings constructed from hemp materials have been found to use less energy, create less waste and take less fuel to heat than conventionally constructed buildings.

Hempcrete Blocks

Isohemp Hempcrete blocks are made from a compressed mixture of hemp hurds and lime. The block is a bonded, non-load-bearing masonry product for the production of healthy, natural insulated  homes as a material for construction and insulation. The lime and the hurds create a chemical reaction that binds the mixture together and continues to get harder over time until they fossilize. It is said that houses built of hempcrete will last for centuries.

Hempro System

The Hempro construction system from IsoHemp is a construction solution that allows the creation of a sustainable and efficient building with a single insulating material: Isohemp hemp blocks. It responds to many technical challenges and is suitable to many types of construction, both for specific projects and for single-family homes. In addition, the Hempro system allows for low-energy, very low-energy and passive buildings. Get in touch for more details.

PCS Plaster

PCS laster is an economical, durable and superior plaster finish. The interior plaster is a well-judged mix of natural plaster, limestone and sand. Ideal to coat your walls and ceilings both for renovations and new builds. It leaves the surface extremely smooth and is very easy to work with. PCS is suitable for most interior walls and ceilings. It can be applied manually or mechanically in one or two layers on various types of rough and absorbent bases.

THE ULTIMATE CONSTRUCTION PRODUCT

Non-toxic – No off-gassing – No solvents – Mold resistance – High vapour permeability – Humidity control – Durable – Sustainable – Carbon sequestration – Fire and pest resistance – Passive self regulation of temperature and humidity – Great insulator

Hempflax Plus Insulation

A natural & healthy alternative to synthetic materials.

HEMPFLAX PLUS insulation products are suitable for thermal and acoustic insulation of roofs, facades and floors in new and existing constructions. This material is a natural alternative to synthetic and mineral insulation materials. The product is ideal for timber frame constructions. When Hempflax Plus materials are used in ‘vapour-permeable’ building constructions, the unique qualities of this natural product become even more enhanced.

Hempflax Plus Insulation

HempFlax Plus insulation products are suitable for thermal and acoustic insulation of the roof, facade and floor of new and existing buildings. The material forms a natural alternative for synthetic and mineral insulation materials in tradditional building applications. HEMPFLAX PLUS is a high-quality insulation material made from the fibre of the industrial hemp plant. A natural and sustainable product with exceptional insulating properties. The unique thermal, moisture-regulating properties and acoustic effect of hemp fibre contribute distinctly to a healthy and sustainable living environment.

Hempflax Felt Mats & Underlay

The Natural hemp fibre nonwoven mats are made out of 100% hemp fibres. The hemp is grown without the use of chemicals and fertilisers and very little energy is used, compared to the production of other fibres. Hemp fibres are lighter than, for instance, glass fibres. The fibres are able to absorb and release water easily and thus are generating a sustainable and healthy internal living climate. The mats are available with thicknesses ranging from 3 to 12 mm and widths can be 10 to 240 cm wide, and are available as rolls or plates to be used in composite reinforcement, underlay, or erosion protection.
